Craigeuan Walled Garden Planning Success!
Our project for a new development of two homes within the walled Garden at Craigeuan in rural Perthshire received planning consent last week from Perth and Kinross Council in a super quick 5 weeks!
The buildings are arranged as a series of single storey barn forms, familiar in the rural landscape and are open to the pitch of the ceilings internally. The barn pavilions house primary living spaces and each is connected by to the next by a single storey link element which provides space for secondary living accommodation and bedrooms.
All primary living spaces are orientated to face south and enjoy views over the rolling landscape beyond with triple aspect spaces created within each barn.
Spaces between the buildings become external courtyards and provide direct connection to the outside. Upper levels are hard landscaped with lower levels offering opportunity for planting and softer elements to be introduced.
Roofs are finished in standing seam zinc, feature gables in natural stone and warmth and tactility is introduced via timber cladding where under projecting canopies to provide protection from the elements.
We have been privileged to work with Hadden Group and Bayne Stevenson Associates on this project and are excited to be progressing the project into technical design stages with Building Warrant submission in April and site start later this year.
