Gilston Farmhouse gets green light from Planners!
We are delighted to have received planning consent from Falkirk Council for a new contemporary dwelling in the Polmont area. Unusually the scheme proposes a new building within the front garden of the existing property.
The existing garden is sloped and allows the new property to be sunken into the embankment with minimal visual impact on the existing farmhouse. A sedum roof finish helps to conceal the new dwelling when viewed from the existing house, allowing it to be read as a piece of landscape from above.The house is of modest size but high quality design and will benefit from high levels of insulation and air tightness and will draw heat from the ground using a ground source heat pump. We are looking forward to working with out clients and developing this project through technical design stages in 2019!
