Introvert / Extrovert houses submitted for Planning!
We are excited to see our project for two bespoke dwellings submitted to the City of Edinburgh Council planning department this week.
The project has become affectionately known as Introvert / Extrovert to reflect the architectural response to the two adjacent yet site specific settings. One dwelling is larger and outward looking addressing the main street frontage and strengthens the existing building line.
The secondary dwelling to the rear of the site enjoys independent access from a secondary residential street to the rear of the plot. This area of the site is overlooked from existing dwellings and as such the new building is inward looking, arranged around a central courtyard.
Both buildings share an architectural language of gabled pavilion and link, drawn from recognition of the important contribution the many varying gabled expressions provide within the local area creating interesting roofscape and a skyline perforated with crow-steps, chimneys and slate.
We are looking forward to seeing this project advance into the technical design stages.
